Major Music Events and Festivals Enter Colombia Through El Dorado

  • El Dorado is the leading cargo terminal in Latin America by volume, positioning Colombia as a powerhouse in air cargo movement.

  • Its infrastructure and logistical efficiency reduce times, improve traceability, and enhance competitiveness for exporters and importers across various sectors.

Bogotá D.C., March 20, 2026. The Cargo Terminal at El Dorado International Airport continues to serve as a key connector across multiple sectors, including floriculture, perishables, parcel services, e-commerce, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, oil and energy, automotive, and textiles, among others. In addition, it plays a leading role in positioning the country within the entertainment industry. Thanks to its added value and factors such as competitiveness and efficiency, El Dorado is a benchmark in global supply chains.

For the music events and festivals taking place this weekend in Bogotá, the Cargo Terminal at El Dorado is expected to handle more than 200 tons of inbound and outbound cargo, including production equipment arriving from Paraguay, Peru, Brazil, Puerto Rico, and the United States.

Once on the ground, a specialized crane company unloads the cargo from the aircraft and transports it to warehouses. There, global concert logistics providers oversee and sort the cargo before transferring it onto trucks. The same process is followed for the return journey to the airport.

After the arrival of aircraft of different sizes, specialized handling is required at the Cargo Terminal. For example, for an aircraft with a 50-ton capacity, approximately six semi-trailer trucks and four hours of processing are required, involving more than 80 personnel in the operation.

In this way, El Dorado remains committed to implementing technological solutions for air cargo logistics to achieve greater efficiency and competitiveness, while also strengthening the airport ecosystem to continue serving as a driver of development, culture, economic growth, and job creation.
